  Iron Man

Ok, seriously, do yourself a favor and go see this movie.

Kicking off the summer blockbuster season is Iron Man. If you haven't heard about this one you must have been living in a cave for the last two months because they have been pushing it really hard, and for once Hollywood actually delivers on its hype. Wonders never cease.

Robert Downey Jr. has been around the Hollywood scene for quite a while now, we have all watched his highs and lows, but this role was simply made for him. He is the perfect Tony Stark, brilliant, billionare playboy inventor, and the suit is simply built for him.

Now, I never really got into the Iron Man comics, and after seeing this flick I feel as though I may have been missing out. It probably was more of a good thing though because everything caught me by suprise.

After devouring the trailers (and even downloading the demo for the game) the movie wasn't at all ruined for me, and the person I feel was directly responsible was Jon Favreau. His direction was excellent, and if Sam Rami set the mold with the first Spider-Man then Favreau put rockets on it and sent it to space. There is a new superhero in town, and his name is IRON MAN.

Seriously, go freaking see this movie.

Comments:
For once, I'm going to have to agree with Ducky. I grew up in the days of the original Iron Man comics, but only read them every once and a while. Iron Man was not really that big of a super hero where I grew up. But enough about my youth.
As far as I'm concerned, this has to be one of the best super hero movies to come out in a long time. Downey Jr. is Iron Man! He was made for this part. Favreau did a spectacular job intermixing comedy and story telling. The CGI was just right. Not way over the top like a next generation 6 part space movie from long, long ago.
Don't be worried if you never read any Iron Man comics. This movie was made for you. It takes you from the beginning and ends with you wanting more.
Oh yea. If you go, stay till the credits are done. I guess I missed some good stuff.
