Batman: Gotham Knight

I am falling into the clutter of everyone else and am posting this review of the PG-13 Batman animated shorts, Gotham Knight. What they were attempting to do is somewhat similar to what the studio did a few years ago before the second Matrix film came out and release a series of animated shorts to bridge the gap between the two films. While this version I think is somewhat interesting, I dont think it really helps the storyline in the way the Matrix version did.
The animation isn't really all that great, the designers and artists take way too much liberty with how Batman looks in a vain attempt at looking 'original.' I thought that they failed pretty badly, sometimes making him look like some sort of Hawkman or something, in one his abs are simply crazy, in another he looks like a scribble. Now, I am all for originality, but really it seemed sort of rushed and unclean. The Animatrix had a great Anime style, and one of the shorts had an excellent graphic look that was astounding, but this series of shorts just look childish.
The story isn't all that great either, and it was hard to keep interested in the pieces even as standalone parts. The best is definitely the last short, and even then I thought it was lacking. If you are one of the superfanboys out there this review won't make or brake you, if you aren't this series of shorts will definitely pale in comparison to the live action films.
