  City of Men
I was pretty interested in seeing this flick and was rather excited since I missed its theatrical release. I really loved City of God (which I did happen to see in the theatre) and was severly dissapointed when I was watching this film from the same minds.

The cinematography is simply fantastic, and that alone is what kept me watching, but the story was just too far from what I was expecting to actually get into. Really, I was starting to think that this should have been called City of Morons due to the inane actions of the characters (at one point the main character forgets his toddler on the beach to go looking for clues about his friends father, then scrambles around the village trying to find him, only a total idiot would do that.) I was beyond caring at that point and began to wish I spoke Portuguese because it started to seem as though the actors were just faking their way through it.

It was really hard to believe that this was the same team that brought me the original. These guys really need to find something else to shoot instead of rehashing the same story from a great film, to a seemingly alright tv show, to a mediocre film at best. Whats next, a cartoon version?
